Our Philosophy
We all have something to learn and something to offer. That’s why our programs are open to all writers, regardless of writing experience. You don’t need to apply. You only need to sign up.
Our sliding scale aims to make our programming financially accessible as well. While we don't require financial documentation, we ask that you pay as much as you can afford; this enables us to continue offering our classes to those who can afford less.
If you’re interested in pro-rating, applying for financial aid, or discussing different payment options, please email us.
To learn more about our approach in the classroom, check out our Community Guidelines.
Our Community
Workshops of eight or less means everyone gets more individual attention, and your writing is discussed more often. It also means you’ll have the space and time to get to know your fellow writers, and join a community built on the continual support of each other’s work.
Our quarterly readings are open to the public and invite all workshop participants to read, listen, and further expand their writing world. In addition to readings, our Annual Review of student work gives every workshop participant the opportunity to be published and see their writing in conversation with our entire community.
Our Laptops
All in-person workshops held in our classroom space come furnished with laptops for those who need them. This makes our programs more accessible to a broader range of writers, while cutting back on environmental waste and making it easier to give and receive feedback.
